Facial Cosmetic Treatments

Dr Jens Kuehnemann offers facial cosmetic treatments to his patients who want to reinvigorate their appearance. He promotes several modern rejuvenation methods, including treatments with Botulinum Toxin Type A(known under brand names like Botox® or Xeomin®) and Hyaluronic Acid (known under brand names like Restylane®).

Facial cosmetic treatments are growing in popularity in the UK. We all want to look younger and healthier. Never mind the actual years, even the constant stress and fatigue associated with everyday living can age your face prematurely. Facial cosmetic treatments allows to refine your appearance with an injectable, purified botulinum. When these treatments are injected into the wrinkles, the toxin proceeds to relax the muscles of the injected area, smoothing the skin and seeming to miraculously halt — and even reverse — the aging process.

Botulinum Toxin Type A

Facial cosmetic treatments performed at our Central London practice are very safe. Typically, anesthetics are not required, because the injection is delivered with an ultra-thin needle and in small doses. These injections disrupt nerve signals to the muscles. The muscles then are allowed to relax, permitting the wrinkles to smooth out. Usually noticeable in two to three days, the effects can last up to six months, fading gradually from there. Repeated treatments provide for more prolonged results, extending the time between injections.

Hyaluronic Acid (Fillers)

Filler treatments can temporarily reverse the aging process for our London patients. Hyaluronic Acid is a natural, biodegradable material that combats the thinning of the natural collagen fibre layer that supports our skin. As we age, this layer begins to break down, allowing the skin to sag and wrinkle.

Fillers come in form of a thick, transparent gel derived from non-animal, stabilized hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is found in the skin as a vital structural component. It returns skin contour by adding volume to the tissue.

The gel is injected into the problem area using a thin needle. Typically, a treatment lasts 10 to 30 minutes, and can often be administered without anesthesia. Results of Filler treatments are immediate. Sometimes a follow-up injection in 2-4 weeks at our London, UK Studio will be recommended, and then you can enjoy results that can last up to a year.
